AmeriCrap

Today has become a really sad day because I had to admit to my superior at AmeriCorps, that I wouldn't be able to complete 120 hours of community service before the end of november. These 120 hours are the hours I had left over from my internship that ended in August, and were the last few steps to receving an "Ed Award" which is x amount of money to put towards student loans.
I went to a volunteer orientation at the downtown women's center last saturday and left very inspired and enthusiastic to help. But I quickly realized that a few hours here and there wasn't going to get me to my quota by the end of the month. I need that money sofuckingbad right now and I was looking forward to it lifting my burden just a wee bit. loosening the grip. allowing some breathing room.

Tall Boy

Funny when you see a music video, and immediately you think of a good friend of yours who directs music videos. and then you think "omg, said person would love this video...its gorgeous"....and then all of a sudden, said friend is IN the music video. Small world. Maybe. I love you, Eric. You too, Har Mar.

book club

So I joined a book club. We are currently reading "Breakfast of Champions" by Kurt Vonnegut. It's so silly to think that I never read Vonnegut before now. Like, where have i been this whole time.
